Всеми страданиями вокруг нас должны страдать и мы. У всех у нас не одно тело, но одно развитие, а это проводит нас через все боли в той или иной форме. Как дитя проходит в своем развитии через все стадии жизни вплоть до старости и до смерти (и каждая стадия, в сущности, от страха или от желания, кажется предыдущей недостижимою), точно так же и мы (связанные с человечеством не менее глубоко, чем с самими собой) проходим в своем развитии через все страдания этого мира. Справедливости при таком положении нет места, но нет места и страху перед страданием или возможности истолковать страдание как заслугу.
